The organization is located in the south of Spain in a touristic and historical city with 350.000 inhabitants. The majority of the students belong to a middle class family, most of the parents work in the service sector. It is a private catholic school which receives a state subsidy, belonging to the regional government. The school provides pre-primary, primary and secondary education to our students. It has got two lines of each level with approximately 50 students in each level. They start school at the age of three and finish it at 16. Most of them are from the very same country although there are some immigrants too. Children with special needs are very well cared-for since there are several classrooms set up to this aim and they attend regularly. Parents are quite involved in school life and they take part in all important decisions and celebrations at school. We usually have a peaceful daily school life with no violence or bullying problems. Our students are about 750 and nearly 40 teachers. In the last years there have been big changes in the school in order to keep up to date with society. We can mention handicapped access and ITC facilities such as Wi-fi net, projectors, digital boards and more recently Ipads for the benefit of our students. At the moment we are involved on many projects of innovation; cooperative learning, key competences, bilinguism, education of personal interiority, education for development and ITC. Furthermore, we are really concerned with the attention to diversity together with counseling department and guidance service, and to assess our last-year –students to make the best decision regarding their following studies once they leave school. This is really helpful to avoid the high rate of students who do not finish their studies with success. People with special needs require a special, personalized treatment. We provide our students with the tools to live in this globalizing world not only working on a syllabus or academic achievement but also on basic competences. Our institution also participates on social support to poor people in the fields of food, clothes, education and attention. These solidarity activities are mainly based on volunteers, old students and families. They can be local, regional, national or international with special campaigns.
